“Notepad Chaos” Version 1.5 WordPress theme now available

An interim update of the popular “Notepad Chaos” WordPress theme is available. I’m still planning a major 2.0 release, but have been slammed by other work as of late to get to it. Sincere apologies for taking this long just to get this update done.
The theme has been cleaned up and updated to the latest version of wordpress. I’ve added in Gravatar support, custom category page and dynamic sidebars to include all the widget you want (can’t guarantee they’ll all look good though).
The next release will have threaded comments, an updated design, and whatever else I can squeeze in.

Hi Evan… great Theme.. but got an Problem.
I got a fresh wordpress installation Version – 2.8.4.
Everytime i try to install the new Version 1.5 he says “The new file could not be moved”
If i try to install 1.0 there is no Problem??? You know what this is?

I think this is just a wonderful theme. As I am just beginning to set up my first blog via wordpress I am still fighting with the most easiest things at times. Whilst I managed to install the notpad-chaos original version as a theme to wordpress I did´nt figure out how to do that with the new version 1.5. The file-size of 5mb always leads to an error message. Could you please help me out with this??

Let me congratulate you for a wonderful piece of creativity. I tried your theme, and got great compliments from friends and followers.
Just one suggestion for your next release.
Can the “HOME|ABOUT|ARCHIVE” buttons be made dynamics too according to the pages a person adds. May be repeat single image for each of them instead of hardcoding the buttons in background big image.

When I try to download it, it downloads in separate files and then it doesn’t put them in order. Can someone tell me the specific way to do it because I am failing.
I customized the graphics and uploaded the theme, but I’m not getting the pushpin note for “Categories”, the “Friends & Links” or the “Misc.” graphics on the side for some reason… am I missing something here?
I have the same problem as Maxmilian – I get an error when trying to upload this theme, but 1.0 works fine. I really want to use this theme! The error is that the upload can’t be moved to my user folder, but I have experimented with other themes and they upload with no problems. What’s causing this?

Great theme! Quick question: How do you modify the text in the bottom gray area, which says “What is this place?”
I’m enjoying the new look of my site with this template, but I’m having a little trouble manipulating the template. Like Sommer C., the graphics for the sidebar didn’t upload properly. When I tried to adjust the sidebar, they disappeared completely. I’ve been trying to reload the theme to restore it to the original, but it says there’s an error every time I try. Any suggestions for help??

Hi, I really like that theme too and hardly can’t wait to see 2.0.
There’s one thing though I couldn’t handle yet: there’s a 1mm shift to the right of the white Page after about 1cm of height. On Opera 10 this is the case. On IE8 you only have an 1mm indent on the left side not on the right. Until today I wasn’t able to find the cause…
Any Ideas?

I’ve just updated to Notepad Chaos 1.5, nice sidebar and gravatar, but something I don’t like. It is: when I add widget to sidebar. The background cathegories, Friends and Link, meta…(a piece of paper background) dissapear. Hope the incoming NC 2.0 fix it(not really a bug, but I prefer the background piece a paper ).

Beautiful template, but doesn’t work properly and messed up with my widgtes… I had to reorganize them after deactivate notepad chaos. The name fits qith it, it’s a chaos!
Which widgets? I’ve tested most of the wordpress default ones…
all of them… specially text widgets, I have a marquee scrolling in three widgtes, the code doesn’t work, it shows all the images inside the marquee and freezes them. And when I deactivate notepad, my widgets got deactivated too… That’s sad, i just loved this theme!
That sounds like an issue with the widgets itself. I’ve left all of the default WordPress code as is, so it shouldn’t interact with them.

Love it. But am trying to apply the new version to my new blog, but I’m getting this issue after wordpress tells me the install is successful:

If I activate anyway, wordpress tells me the theme is broken. Any help would be appreciated.

I just have one problem, in the date-labels in the margin, I get “undefined – undefined”. I have tried to change the format of the date, but it doesn’t help. Have you got any suggestions to how to get the date right?
I do use blogspot, might that be the problem? If so, can i delete a code, to remove the labels?

I’m just starting a blog for my son who’s a type 1 diabetic. I LOVE this theme!!! I just uploaded the vs 1 but then saw the 1.5 vs. I can’t seem to get it to work. I don’t see the XML document that it asks for to change the template. Can you please help : )
